Start your vacation with a luxurious first day. At St Pancras,
ease through the station with fast-track and access to
an elegant lounge. Onboard, savour a three-course lunch
with wine and champagne. In Paris, a personal escort
will meet you at the train and guide you to a
chauffeured car for the short drive to Gare de Lyon.
For your journey to Avignon, we choose to let you go
Italian, because the Frecciarossa high-speed train carries
the best premium first cabin on the continent, with only ten
ultra-wide and supremely comfortable reclining seats in the entire
car. A steward is at your beck and call, with wine and prosecco
on constant offer, as well as a four-course a-la-carte lunch.

The city’s Gothic Palais des Papes and the famed
Pont d’Avignon reflect its rich past. Within the city’s
perfectly preserved ramparts, you can enjoy markets,
museums, and (in July) the renowned Festival d’Avignon.
It is a mere four hours on a direct Spanish high-speed train
from Avignon to Barcelona. As you near the Spanish border,
there are beautiful views of the easternmost peaks of the
mighty Pyrenees mountain range. Departure is in late morning,
with an arrival time perfectly timed for lunch.
Barcelona unfolds as a Mediterranean city of Catalan pride,
where history, sea, and modernism meet.
At its heart stands La Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí’s lifelong
vision. Begun in the nineteenth century, the basilica fuses
Gothic roots with radical geometry. Completed in 2026 at 172.5 metres,
it crowns the skyline as the world’s tallest church today.
The Frecciarossa high-speed train for the direct five-hour
service to Cordoba is an Italian assault on the Spanish
railways – and a very successful one. In our opinion, this is
the best train on the route, with fine seats, attentive service,

Cordoba dazzles with the Mezquita’s

vivid cultural mosaic of southern Spanish heritage today
The short journey from Cordoba to Seville uses Spain’s first
high-speed line, built for the World Expo in Seville in 1992,
and takes less than an hour. You travel on the Italian
Frecciarossa flagship service in premium first class where
a drink and light meal is included.
Seville, Andalusia’s radiant capital, blends Moorish heritage
with flamboyant Spanish life, framing Gothic cathedrals,
Mudéjar palaces and bold modern landmarks.
The Real Alcázar, a Game of Thrones filming location,

enduring atmosphere in southern Spain today.
