The Bernina Railway
- with dining car and mountain hotel -
The great things in life should not be rushed, but savoured. The Bernina railway is one of the most spectacular railways in the world, and while most people do it in little more than four hours on a packed tourist train, we believe the glaciers, gorges and snowy peaks along the way deserve better. So your Bernina experience will include lunch in a 1930s dining car, a night in a hotel on a narrow ridge 3000 meters above sea level, and a break for lunch in a historic restaurant on the most panoramic spot of the entire line.Â

of Walensee, one of the most stunning lakes in all of
Switzerland. In Chur, a table in a classic 1930s dining
car awaits you. The a la carte menu (on your own dime)

The train then descends through the valleys into Italy, with palm trees and lakeside scenery replacing alpine landscapes. Your destination is Varenna, the most beautiful town on Lake Como, where you stay two nights in the old town, right on the water. From here, it is easy to take the ferry to Bellagio or simply enjoy the lakeside atmosphere.
The final stage of your journey takes you via Milan to Venice. From Varenna, a short train ride brings you to the grand Milano Centrale, where you board a high-speed Frecciarossa in Business Class.
